On May 16, Philly will pick a candidate for mayor (and other important positions)

 

May 16 is the next primary election for Philadelphia. Voters will choose candidates for mayor, commissioner, city controller, register of wills, sheriff, at-large Council members, and district Council members.

“The Democratic candidate who wins the primary has a high likelihood of cruising to office in the general election,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Polls are open on May 16 from 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM. The Last day to register to vote is May 1. The last day to request a mail-in or absentee ballot is May 9.
